Council has reversed its decision to ban smoking at all municipal parks, fields, trails and more.  As the motion was going through it’s readings to be passed, Councillor Judy Koziol asked to change her vote on the motion.

Guilty plea after fatal collision

The driver in a fatal hit and run incident in March in North Bay has reportedly plead guilty to a couple charges.  The Nugget reporting 31 year old Ehren Schneider plead guilty Tuesday to failing to stop at the scene of a collision causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

A warning from city police about a fake email that’s circulating.  Police say numerous residents in the area have received unsolicited emails from what appears to be the Bank of Montreal fraud department requesting people update their information using a link in the email.

City fire prevention is investigating after an attached garage fire on Decaire Road Monday night.  City fire crews were dispatched just before 10pm with the garage fully involved when they arrived on the scene.

1 year since a fatal crash and chemical spill on Hwy 63

It was Victoria Day weekend one year ago when a fatal accident took place on Highway 63 near Silver Lady Lane in North Bay. A truck carrying formaldehyde rolled over and spilled the chemical.  Manager of Environmental Services John Severino says there has been a lot of work put in over the last year to remove formaldehyde from the area as there were fears it may have seeped into the ground.
