Haitian Relief effort
An earthquake in Haiti devastated the Country. They have no resources to rely on, so the only way for these people and all of the relief workers there to help is through donations. Rogers has donated $250,000…the Canadian government has offered to match donations from Canadians up to 50 million dollars, and you can be part of the effort. If you are a Rogers Wireless or Fido customer, you can send the text message “HELP” to 1-2-9-1 and you will have donated $5. They need so much there right now. 100% of the money will be given to the organizations who are distributing help to Haiti.
The Canadian Red Cross is currently accepting donations for the ongoing Haitian Relief effort. Donations can be made online at www.redcross.ca or through the toll free number 1-800-418-1111. Local donations can also be given at the Red Cross, North Bay Branch located on 1275 Main Street .Please note that the Red Cross is not engaging in door to door solicitation for Haiti at this time.
