Mayor meets with U.S. trade representative
Mayor Vic Fedeli has been involved for some time in fighting the Buy American provisions. He says there are exemptions for Canadian firms like Tembec, but they must convince us municipalities to fill out paperwork with the us government to make it happen. Fedeli met with the U.S. trade representative Ambassador Ron Kirk on the issue this week. The mayor says there are too many American cities that are still under the mistaken belief that they must make deals with U.S. companies. He says they can trade with Canadian companies too, like Central Welding and Wabi Iron Works of New Liskeard
