Amendment expected involving the future of Tweedsmuir Park
A new recommendation involving the future of Tweedsmuir park and the ball fields is expected at council in about 2 weeks. This after the Chair of Community Services decided after Monday's council meeting he couldn't support the rezoning proposal any longer. There were plenty of public presentations against the sale of part of the land to build 13 homes. Anthony says he'll present an amendment calling for the ball fields to be used until the new sports complex opens then for the area to become a passive play area. As for the loss of money from the land sale going to the new sports field complex, Anthony says he would not support an increase in user fees. He says they may look at going into reserves or see if there are other projects that could be deferred.
